![]() Coupled with the KeyStep Pro, I could make this a one-stop shopping experience. So my eye drifted back towards the JV-1080 since its Performance mode allows up to 16 discrete parts to be played at once. However, as my tastes evolved a bit away from Outrun and 80s soundtrack style sounds and more towards Berlin School soundscapes, I started thinking: there has to be a way to set up a single controller/single synth setup that’s both powerful and portable. Back then I figured I would use portable versions of my bigger synths for public transport here in NYC: a JV-1010 for the JV-1080, and Volca FM for the TX7, and my SR16 and DR550 drum machines, with outboard effects. As things appear to slowly be returning to a version of Normal here, I decided to revisit my performance setup that I started putting together in 2019. ![]()
